All Saints Sunday

On All Saints Sunday, we remember our beloved saints who have gone before us during the past year, with prayers and candlelight. Family of ALC members who have died during the past year will receive a white rose.

“I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.”   Ephesians 1:15

At the death of a member or friend of ALC, our church family shares the grief of those who mourn and remembers the brevity of life on earth.  At the funeral or memorial service we give voice to sorrow, thank God for our loved one, and entrust this companion of ours into the hands of God.

Trusting in God’s promise in baptism that we are claimed by Christ forever, we rest in the sure hope of the resurrection.  When the church gathers to mark the end of life, Christ crucified and risen is the witness of worship, the strength of mutual consolation, and the hope of healing.
