Sunday, September 29 is God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday and this year we will be partnering with both Shepherd of the Valley and The House for GWOH! The House is a safe place for teens in Mesa County who are experiencing homelessness. The major fundraiser for The House is Friday, September 27 and is called “A Night on the Street.” The fundraiser benefits homeless, unaccompanied youth in the Grand Valley and my family will be participating in the sleep out and events that accompany it. We hope that you will sleep out with us as well but if you are not able, please check out the other awesome aspects of the event and see what you are able to participate in! You can learn more about it and register here: www.thehousegj.org/nots
Several of The House’s facilities are in need of some volunteer labor and the youth who benefit from their services are in need of burritos or breakfast burritos that are premade and frozen.
Sign-up sheets are available in the narthex – there are many areas to help, from providing food to cooking or bringing your hand tools and working on outdoor/indoor projects.
